Drones and quad copters are all the rage now. But before all this technology came about, there was really no simple and cheap way to take aerial photographs.
Enter Dr. Julius Neubronner, who came up with a novel use of the common pigeon to take really good aerial photographs. He devised a harness to hold a camera to the underbelly of a pigeon.
Although he patented the idea and set up a small aerial photography business, he never really made much money.
